For the CIEH Level 3 Award We Charge - £900 + £50pp

The CIEH has an established reputation in awarding Ofqual-regulated qualifications; the CIEH has played a leading role in the development of the units of assessment that form the basis of the new generation of first-aid qualifications.

From 1st January 2013 we have been offering the following revised courses:

The CIEH Level 3 Award is a two-unit, three-day course that will enable successful candidates to act as a first aider in their workplace.

  • Unit 1: Emergency First aid in the Workplace
  • Unit 2: Recognition and Management of Illness and Injury in the Workplace
  • Candidates are assessed during the different sessions on the activities, a final test paper and the final practical assessment.
  • A mandatory re qualification is required every three years

The tutor

Our course Director (Adrian Close) delivers all of our 1st aid courses and has had plenty of 1st aid/medic experience. He has worked as a lifeguard, sports instructor, outdoor pursuit’s instructor, white water raft guide, mountain leader, PADDI rescue diver, dive medic and Red Cross instructor. Adrian also volunteers for Edale Mountain Rescue when he can.

Adrian’s passion for the subject is evident in the feedback from delegates who sit the course and the excellent pass rates the delegates achieve.

Outline of the course

The training programme for Unit 1 covers the following topics:

  • roles and responsibilities of a first aider
  • assessing an incident
  • unconscious casualties
  • cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • choking
  • external bleeding
  • shock
  • minor injuries

The training programme for Unit 2 covers the following topics:

  • secondary survey
  • injuries to bones, joints and muscles
  • suspected head and spinal injuries
  • chest injuries
  • burns and scalds
  • eye injuries
  • sudden poisoning
  • anaphylaxis
  • major illnesses

How long does the course last?

How much does it cost?

We charge £900 for the course and £50 per delegate which includes registration and certification. Delegates per course can range from 2 to 12 per course. 

How long is the certificate valid for?

Re qualification is mandatory every three years. The re-qualification course is 2 days as long as it is competed within the 3 years.
